Lois Lee
a college student trying to figure things out without making too much of a mess
For about two years, I felt extremely conflicted in beginning an official blog despite external support. At first, it was the purpose for the blog that caused grief. Do I want to post just thoughts? What about book reviews? Then I got self-conscious about officially publishing this for public view. Would it still be for me? Should I be worried about an audience? If I followed through, what platform works? And don’t even get me started on the name. I mulled over this alone for quite a while, switching between at least three titles.
Why is this so confusing? After this long internal dialogue, I gave my leave of absence to any blog websites I had visited, and gave up for a solid year.
After a period of personal growth (a phrase I will unashamedly repeat), I finally felt ready to officially create a blog. Coincidentally, it was right on time for the new year of 2022. And perhaps now really was a good time because even the name, aswrittenbylois, feels just right.
